Dear ones,
Our last update was in the beginning of September. We had a blessed time in Florida, as we waited for completion of work on my dental bridge. God gave us incredible blessings through two blessed medical professionals: our dentist and our chiropractor who have watched over us for years. My dental bridge work was completed September 10th . We also saw our chiropractor on the 10th and he adjusted Mike’s neck, which has been so painful. We completed a TV interview on September 13th in Buffalo, NY, and then attended a marriage seminar in Deland, FL. The following week we spent time with friends and supporters in Starkville, MS and in Clarksville, TN. What a joy it is to fellowship with friends and supporters and share what God has allowed us to be a part of in ministry to the body of Christ in Yakutia!
Both of us have benefitted physically and spiritually from the 2 week juice fast last month, and have begun another this week. There is so much to pray about these days, concerning our time in the US and concerning our work and the saints in Siberia. We are also still having struggles physically with American food, so the fasting helps us maintain our health in anticipation of our return to village next month (November).
We arrived in Evansville, IN on Mike’s birthday Saturday, September 28th and have been staying with wonderful friends from our home church, New Bethel SBC in Evansville. We had the joy of reunion with our beloved church family and we shared with them our report of what the Lord had accomplished in our stay in Yakutia from April through August. We have completed our ministry summary report which we will be glad to share, for the asking.
God has gifted us with a wonderful couple in Evansville, IN who have and continue to faithfully watch over our home and our affairs in IN. We could not have fulfilled the ministry that God called us to do without the support of our home church, New Bethel SBC in Evansville. New Bethel has formally adopted us as their missionaries – our website has the details, and the faithful stewardship of a wonderful couple, Elizabeth and Wes Kandel. We purchased a home in Evansville in October 2005, for the purpose of establishing a ministry headquarters in the US.
This home in IN has housed our ministry van (in the RV garage on the property) that still needs to be finished. With our return to Evansville, Mike has continued work on completing our step van home. which will enable us to share with the body of Christ here in America; our Father’s heart for Yakutia, as well as His heart for the body here in America as we move ever closer to the time of our Lord’s return.
We realize that even as we labor for the Lord in Yakutia, we may soon face the situation of the doors of ministry closing in Russia. Presently, those doors are open to us, but soon, that those doors will close. Meanwhile, we continue to prepare for our return to Russia, as we have a visa that is good till April 2008.
Our daughters, Bonnie and Jeanne, flew us to Colorado and California this month. We spent 3 blessed days with Bonnie and husband Kirk from October 2 through 5 in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado—truly a balm to our souls. We also had time with Pastor Sam Watne and wife Lois, near Denver, dear friends who have been so encouraging to us. We then flew out to California Oct 5th and are fellowshipping with Navy officer daughter Jeanne and her church, Shadow Mountain Community Church, and friends near San Diego.
When we return home to Indiana on October 13, we will continue to prepare for our return trip to Russia, and we are still collecting corporeal supplies and biblical resources for our beloved pastors and churches there. Please pray for us as we make those preparations and seek the Lord for His continued provision and wisdom in our ministry.
All our love,
Diane and Mike Meagher |
