Week 3 in the U.S. September 1, 2007

Dear Family and Friends,

Our Heavenly Father is so good! When our schedule and plans don’t come to pass; do we trust Him when He seems to be changing everything? I think our Father delights to care for us is every bit as much as He delights in our “ministry” for Him. Let me recap: Two months ago in Vilyuisk I was eating a (rare) lemon, rind and all, when my [tooth] bridge fell out. I’d been having nightmares about it falling out (I returned to the US in 2001 for this very reason). After a mini meltdown, I realized that Mike was already arranging for our US trip from the Russian visa issue, and I could do nothing to speed the process. The visa “problems” which instigated our US return; was God watching over me. Our dentist found serious infection deep in my gum cavities, and would have remained too long unnoticed had the bridge not fallen out. I had to have deep scaling and cleaning above my gums done. I have another appointment with our dentist, Dr. Stockton in Melbourne on Sept. 4 for the final fitting of a new permanent bridge to be put in September 10.

Our schedule has changed once again. I didn’t realize that the dental appointment of Tues., August 28, would be the installation of the TEMPORARY bridge until a permanent one would be put in on Sept. 10. We will be attending a special marriage seminar in Deland, FL September 14-16, conducted by a good friend and classmate of Mike’s from his Reformed Theological Seminary days. We were given a full scholarship to the 3-day seminar and are really looking forward to being ministered to. Mike will finalize plans for a TV interview in NY for either Sept. 20 or 27 but he can’t finalize those plans until Tuesday, September 4th.

We’ve begun an extended fast to seek Father in prayer and to reset our appestats. We’re not adjusting to American food. The late Dr. Bill Bright (Campus Crusade for Christ founder) used a special fasting water to strengthen & cleanse for long fasts: http://www.smarter.com/---se--qq-Bill%2BBright%2BFasting.html

We continue collecting supplies and funds for our November return to Ügülatsi.  The head doctor at our tiny hospital in Ügülatsi, and the headmaster of the village’s school gave us lists of what is needed most for the coming winter. We are also collecting materials for Mike’s inventions including the 12-volt hydroponics systems for villagers to learn to grow veggies year-around, and the new insulation material for village cabins. In a few days we’ll post a list of the supplies and funds needed on our “GIVING” page for prayer and aid. We have already seen God rally some of His faithful servants to help us prepare. THANK YOU!

We had a blessed time with my mom, 2 of our children and 4 grandchildren last Saturday. This week we visited with more close friends and supporters and Mike’s mom. We’ll be able to spend time with 5 of Mike’s brothers and sisters, his aunt and uncle, and mom this week. We’ll spend Sunday with Mike’s mom at her church in Deland, Florida and have a reunion of Mike’s siblings at his brother’s home in Lake Mary, Florida.

Women Today is a women’s’ ministry broadcast on 400+ radio stations, and its scripts are used by Campus Crusade for Christ ministries as devotionals in TruthMedia, and via email to 30,000 subscribers, and at: http://tmdevotionals.com/women & www.secretsofsuccess.com/devotionals/women . In ALL of these outlets, one of our Siberian Mission testimonies will “air” and be published. Also, Mike has been invited to do a live one-hour TV interview this month to be broadcast world-wide. Please pray with us that God will use all of these instruments to build our base of faithful prayer warriors.

We are available 24/7 to chat and our receive messages at: we2cold@yahoo.com
